Avocado, Chia, Baobab & Protein Smoothie Bowl


I’ve come to the conclusion that if you want your smoothie bowl to be thick and creamy enough to pop other ingredients on top without losing them when they sink into the mixture, (can you tell this has been a long trial and error journey?!)  you need to add half an avocado 🙂 It’s the best thickening ingredient 😀 and it’s also DELICIOUS! 😉


(liquid measurements may vary depending on the size of your smoothie maker)

  • 1/2 avocado
  • 1 scoop protein powder – I used The Organic Protein Company protein
  • 1 tsp. baobab powder
  • 1 tbsp. chia seeds
  • 1/2 cup frozen raspberries
  • 1 cup almond milk


  1. Pop all the ingredients into your smoothie cup and blend using your smoothie maker
  2. Pour into a bowl
  3. Top with anything you like to give it some crunch 😀 I used granola, freeze-dried strawberries and desiccated coconut

Creamy Protein Smoothie


A delicious smoothie combination made using nourishing ingredients that keep you full and fuel your body 🙂


  • 1 scoop – protein powder – I used The Organic Protein Company Whey Protein
  • 1/2-3/4 cup – unsweetened almond milk
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 3 tbsp – honey Greek yogurt – I used Rachel’s Organic Greek Yogurt
  • 1 tbsp – chia seeds –  I used Chia Charge seeds
  • 1 pack – frozen smoothie mix – kale, spinach, mango & kiwi – available in most supermarkets

Whizz up in a blender and then top with granola and dried raspberries for a delish crunch 😀

Berrylicious Smoothie Bowl


Smoothie bowls are so yummy and this is another great recipe 🙂 I hope you like it 🙂


  • Frozen berry mix – 1/2 cup
  • Frozen blueberries – 1/2 cup
  • Spinach – Handful
  • Banana – 1 small
  • Carrot – 1 small
  • Cucumber – Handful
  • Spirulina – 1/2 tsp
  • Almond milk – 1 cup
  • Honey – 1 tbsp
  • Pecans – 5
  • Granola – 1/2 cup
  • Dessicated coconut – 1 tsp

Note: some smoothie makers differ in size so you may need to adjust your measurements 🙂

Make it

  1. Pop the berry mix, blueberries, spinach, banana, carrot, cucumber, spirulina, and almond milk into the smoothie maker and whiz up
  2. Pop the smoothie mix into a bowl and pop the granola, pecans and coconut on the top

That’s it – sooo easy 🙂

Oaty Superfood & Pecan Smoothie Bowl


I do love a yummy smoothie bowl on a sunny morning 🙂

The main reason I choose a smoothie bowl more often than a normal smoothie on it’s own these days is due to the fact that chewing our food is actually really important. Sounds silly, of course it’s important, but it’s not just a process we go through to break down our food into smaller pieces that we can then swallow. The whole digestive process actually begins in the mouth.

When chewing our food, we cover it in saliva which contains an enzyme (ptyalin) that begins the process of breaking down our food ready for it to be digested and this enzyme also helps us digest carbohydrates.

Chewing also brings the food to body temperature meaning that our digestive system doesn’t have to work as hard to convert the nutrients into energy.

That doesn’t mean a lovely refreshing smoothie is off the menu though, they will still appear every now and then but probably not as often as a smoothie bowl.

Which leads me nicely, onto this gorgeous superfood smoothie bowl recipe 😉


  • Avocado – 1 small one or 1/2 a large one pp
  • Banana – 1 small one
  • Yogurt – 1 small pot or 2 tbsp. (I used a strawberry activia)
  • Almond milk – 1/2 cup to 1 cup depending on consistency
  • Oats – 1/2 cup
  • Spirulina powder – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Rosehip powder – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Milk thistle powder – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Frozen berries
  • Pecans
  • Beetroot qnola

Make it

  1. Pop the avo, banana, yogurt, almond milk, oats and powders into your smoothie cup and blend until smooth
  2. Pop the berries in a pan and heat until thawed
  3. Place the berries, qnola and pecans on top of your smoothie bowl
  4. Chew! 😉

The Happy Healthy Green Smoothie


It’s great to have a smoothie every now and then for breakfast and they are simple and easy to make. Your body has naturally been detoxing overnight and you are waking up with a clean canvas – the perfect time to put some nutrients in but let’s be honest… you are never going to munch on veggies first thing…so why not drink them with lots of other ingredients that make them not just palatable but really yummy too.

The Green Smoothie


  • Avocado – 0.5
  • Spinach – 1 cup
  • Carrot – 0.5
  • Kiwi – 1
  • Mango (frozen or fresh) – 0.5 cup
  • Pineapple – (frozen or fresh) – 0.5 cup
  • Probiotic yogurt (I use Activia) – any flavour or make – 1 small pot
  • Almond milk or normal milk – 1 cup
  • *Spirulina OR wheatgrass powder – 0.5 teaspoon

*Instead of buying powders separately, you can get a pouch of pre-mixed nutrients from places like Holland & Barratt. Example: –

Make your Smoothie

  1. Pop all the ingredients into your smoothie cup and place on the mixer machine
  2. Drink at your leisure!
